The Institutions and Personalities of Russian Inter-War Emigration in Czechoslovakia is a collective volume published on the occasion of the centennial of the so-called "Russian Support Action". Initiated by the Czechoslovak government, the aim of the Russian Support Action was to provide aid for refugees from post-revolutionary Russia afflicted by the Bolshevik takeover and subsequent civil war.
This unprecedented humanitarian relief action enabled thousands of exiles not only to find asylum, but above all also the opportunity to study and continue their academic work. The publication looks at the issue from two perspectives - that of the institutions formed by the Russian émigrées, and of several eminent figures of the Russian émigré community.
