Abstract

Modern music education places considerable demands on all participants in the educational process. The study is demanding, the requirements are high.

The aim of this paper is to present to the professional public the results of our research, in which we analysed the situation in the field of prevention of risky behaviour in the music education environment. We worked with a qualitative research design, which allowed us to gain a thorough insight into the researched environment.

We gathered information using interviews, observations and narrative analysis. Our results highlight the fact that some elements of contemporary music education may be an accelerator for the emergence of patterns of risky behaviour.

In our discussion, we highlight the necessity of interdisciplinary collaboration and the possibilities of prevention activities in music education settings.
