Abstract
There are songbooks of Galician-Portuguese spiritual lyricism numbering another almost 450 songs. Several sets of hymns and narrative poems about the miracles of the Virgin Mary were written at the court of the Castilian-Leon "king-poet" Alfonso X the Learned.
One of them, the Toledo Codex, is discussed in the publication One Hundred Songs of Mary with the subtitle Toledo Codex Cantigas de Santa Maria by King Alfonso X. Learned by Matouš Jaluška.
