Econometric modelling played an important role in the economic history, mainly in the 1960s and 1970s, when the methodological approach promoting the use of econometrics in historiography, known as New economic history or Cliometrics, won an almost dominant position in the economic history. The importance of the use of econometrics in historiography, however, is no more so significant at the present time.
Even though, econometrics can still be helpful for business history, thanks to the analytical and interpretive possibilities it offers. This paper presents one of the possible areas of application of econometric modelling in the business history.
