The paper examines the role of the QUAD and the continuity and transformation of the US strategic approach to the Indo-Pacific. The research suggests that strategic analysts and political elites in the region had mixed perceptions of President Donald Trump's policy approach and that the China challenge to US primacy will continue to play a key role in US's considerations when it approaches its local allies.
It concludes by acknowledging that the QUAD will serve as the important framework for joint activities for the partners.
