Curculigosid A:Phytochemical with a wide spectrum of pharmacological effects - possible aplication in psychiatry

Abstract
Curculigo orchioides Gaertn. is an ancient medicinal plant known in traditional Chinese medicine for its immunomodulatory, sperma- togenic, neuroprotective and rejuvenating effects. Phytochemical research has led to the identification of a large number of bioactive compounds, most of which are concentrated in the rhizomes of this plant.
The rhizome is rich in phenolic glycosides, the most nume- rous of which are substances called curculigosides. Curculigoside A is the most abundant and pharmacologically effective, which also has psychopharmacological effects.
The greatest attention is paid to this substance in this article.
