The paper is based on the analysis of Czech mathematics textbooks from the 5th to the 9th year. Elementary school and observes how far and in what way mathematics is presented here as a tool for true knowledge of the world, the search for objective truth.
Different types of tasks are illustrated by examples from textbooks. The analyzes are commented from various didactic perspectives with regard to work with long-term goals.
It points to the reserves of textbooks, to possible pitfalls arising from the inaccuracies of assigning tasks, or to omitting the conditions under which the veracity of the statement can be judged.
