Abstract
The chapter deals with risk taking in sports. In particular, with the influence of personality and situation on risk decision-making and the theoretical background of motivation to take risks.
The decision-making of referees in critical situations (ice hockey) is also mentioned. It also shows the differences in risk taking of men and women and the links with risking of people in extreme sports and on the road.
