Perception of fire and urban conflagrations in Chosŏn Kingdom

Abstract

The aim of this presentation is to introduce the topic of my doctoral dissertation, which examines urban fires and fire prevention in pre-modern Korea, focusing on the area of Hansŏng capital city.
