Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk

Publication at Faculty of Science |

Abstract

Several papers in this book discuss the roles of both global and local long-term processes such as the ongoing climate change, which predetermine the formation of landslides in various parts of the World. Considering the variety of environmental conditions around the globe in which climate, soil and rock weathering lead to significant differences in landslide susceptibility, the authors describe case studies from Europe, Asia, North America and the Pacific region.
