Abstract
Under the title Phenomenology of Death we offer a translation of the first three lectures of the series La Mort et le Temps, which forms the first half of Levinas's book Dieu, la Mort et le Temps (Paris 1993). It is Levinas himself who describes their content as the phenomenology of death.
