Abstract

The chapter is devoted to one of the representatives of scientific emigration from the former Russian Empire, psychiatrist Nikolai Yevgrafovich Osipov. Focuse on his life, work in Czechoslovakia and especially on the concept of Russian literature in his work.

The chapter deals in more detail with Osipov's study of the phenomenon of fear in the works of Gogol, Dostoevsky and Tolstoy. It examines the subjects and objects of fear and their relationship in the literary work of Russian writers.
