Abstract
The issue of antiquity reception in the Czech society, especially in education, has led the author to reflect on the fact that students entering university perceive the antiquity period as something finished. In her paper, she points out new approaches to antiquity in the academic sphere in the past decades, which stress the reception of ancient values and its importance for (not only) the European culture.
She also points out that, in the Czech Republic, a permanent platform for meeting with the wider public is still missing.
