Health Physical Education (HPE) (or Remedial Physical Education) has been taught in Czech schools for decades and has formed an important bridge between medical rehabilitation and regular physical education. It focused on pupils and youth with so-called impaired health and sought to improve a number of health disorders through corrective exercises, primarily focused on the musculoskeletal, respiratory and nervous systems.
Current legislation does not sufficiently support the education and training of HPE in schools. In this way, our education system annul physical education to take care of their own health for children and young people with disabilities.
