Autogenic training (AT) is the most common relaxation technique. The author of the AT is the german physician Johannes Heinrich Schultz.
Nowadays, AT is considered an interdisciplinary method used by doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists and other professionals. The principle is based on the relationship between mental tension, muscle tension and the functional state of the autonomic nervous system.
Due to the fact that the tension of the skeletal muscle can be changed by the will, there is a mental relaxation during targeted muscle relaxation. The aim is to justify the use of relaxation techniques in patients with polakisuria based on the case report of five women.
