This presentation was dedicated to explication of the toponomastic methodology of the interdisciplinary project "Interlinking language and material culture", funded through Charles University's START initiative. It covered the toponomastic data sources used for Bavaria and their further processing for statistical and geo-spatial analysis.
This involved explanation of (i) the structure of the project's toponomastic database, (ii) approaches to linguistic categorization of the toponyms, (iii) post-processing of the data using the R programming language and (iv) the capabilities of GIS for their visual representation.
