Abstract
The monograph deals with criminology as an independent social empirical science about crime, its conditions and causes, its perpetrators and its victims, but also about crime control or its prediction. He looks for a place in criminology in the system of sciences, deals with its main functions and tasks, and explains various types of crime and their specific causes.
