Religiosity and literature in Czech underground culture: The literary work of Ivan M. Jirous is subjected to an interpretation neither from the standpoint of literary aesthetics, nor of political historiography, but as a document of an original type of religiosity.
This commented anthology is arranged according the main topics of Roman Catholic theology, as they are presented and transformed in Jirous' poetry. The commentary points both to poet's knowledge of Catholic theology and culture and to his individual, often anti-traditional interpretation of Catholic motifs.
