This paper presents different possibilities of using mobile applications in chemistry teaching (so-called m-learning). Furthermore, almost 40 mobile applications for Android and iOS are briefly characterized.
Four of them are described in detail and one specific teaching activity is given for the PhET Simulations application. The use of mobile applications in classes can help overcome the absence of laboratory experiments in online teaching, students can perform more demanding experiments themselves, and those applications have the potential to visually introduce more complex topics and processes to students.
