Abstrakt
In 2011, Conceição Evaristo, a contemporary writer from Minas Gerais, launched an anthology of stories Unsubmissive Tears of Women, in which she works on the universe of gender relations in a social context marked by racism and sexism. Non-linear narratives are characterized by successive temporal cuts, in which past and present overlap.
The author is an active participant in movements to value Afro-Brazilian culture, the core of each story represents a voice of a black woman who screams, whispers, accuses, fears, but also speaks about her desires and hopes. The lecture, influenced by the studies of Edgar Cézar Nolasco, will focus on the ties between mothers and daughters and their roles in the family and community, reflecting "a writing", a specific literary and creative process by the author.
