A Grande Arte (1983) is a book by Rubem Fonseca, a great contemporary Brazilian novelist. In his works, he portrays the various urban violence and has as marginal characters the murderers, professional killers and prostitutes, who mingle with lawyers and detectives.
One of the secondary characters in the second part of this detective novel is called José Joaquim de Barros Lima. This son of Portuguese emigrants lives in Rio de Janeiro where he founded the Lima Prado family, one of the most important and most traditional families in the city.
His story, written like the saga in a notebook, is possibly one of the vestiges of a crime.
