Invited lecture for the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Education, University of Hradec Králové (contact person: Dr Jan Suk). The lecture discussed, chronologically, selected topics in Scottish literature of the 20th and 21st century, and presented major writers and trends.
It commented on the linguistic diversity of Scottish literature (writing in English, Scots, and Gaelic), on the traditions of Orkney and Shetland, and on the intersections of Scottish literature and the drive for cultural and political independence.
