Abstract

The contribution presents the results of a questionnaire survey carried out in 2017 (from March to June). After two years of studying fashion and beauty borrowings, we obtained 400 borrowings from English, a representative sample of which was analyzed by means of a questionnaire distributed to native speakers.

The theoretical framework is constituted, on the one hand, by our previous research and work, relating not only to the framing of anglicisms and borrowings in the general sense but also on methodological avenues of research, and, on the other hand , by the methodology and work of the EmpNéo project, framed in particular by the works: Neological loans and indigenous equivalents and The loan in question (s). The main objective of the article is to describe and comment on the results we obtained from the questionnaire.

We focus in particular on the perception of Anglicisms by native speakers, on the use of a particular word in a given context, without forgetting to comment on and sort the definitions / equivalents proposed by the questioned.
