Abstract
The contribution concerns the interpretation of the painting Shepherds among the Ancient Ruins, created by Roelandt Savery, who was the court painter of Emperor Rudolf II. The scene, which is set in a fantastic landscape, shows the harmonious coexistence of the peasants and animals.
