The contribution presents results of an analysis focused on current state of pedagogical practice in the field of safe chemistry experimental activities in Czechia. The analysis targeted both students' and teachers' experimental activities in schools focusing on valid legislation and the actual observance of safety requirements.
A questionnaire was used to gather data. It was filled by 354 lower- and upper-secondary school chemistry teachers.
Main results cover problems with appropriate time and place for experimental activities. Unclear legislative conditions and appropriate teacher education were found as barriers for broader range of experimental activities in schools.
