The life of František Listopad and his short story work

Abstract

The evening - the additional program of the conference "Center and Periphery in Romance Languages ​​and Literatures" organized by FF MU - focused on the internationally important personality František (Jorge) Listopad. A man who has dedicated much of his life to art in Portugal.

He was a television and theater director, poet, essayist and critic. He entered and influenced Portuguese culture in an irreplaceable way.

He founded a film and theater school here, for example, and was the director of the National Theater D. Maria II. in Lisbon and the founder of the theater group TUT (Theater of the Technical University).

Prior to that, he co-founded the Young Front in the Czech Republic, where he ran a cultural section. Czechoslovakia was his native country and Czech culture undoubtedly signed on it, because he wrote his poems mainly in the Czech language.

He has performed many plays and operas in Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Switzerland and Portugal. The lecture was led by Portuguese reseachers Karolina Válová and Petra Šantorová.

This was followed by the Brno release of the documentary "O Jorge" by Pavlína Taubingerová.
