The article is an essay based on recent Timothy Snyder's book Our Malady; Lessons in Liberty from a Hospital Diary. In the essay, the author ponder about Snyder's disease experience, experience with healthcare and thoughts about freedom, rights and health.
The author makes some connections to the Czech situation including the pandemic and its imact on the Czech society and healthcare. The author argues, that representatives of Czech psychosomatic medicine should not overlook both political and social factors iwhen embracing the bio-psycho-social model of health and illness.
