Abstract
Jaroslav Franěk from Nezabudice u Křivoklátu, a participant in the 1st and 2nd Resistances, is best known as one of the characters in the autobiographical short stories of the writer Ota Pavel. Examination of archival materials and periodicals brought new information about his fate in the ranks of the Czechoslovak legions in Russia in the years 1916-1920 and refuted some of the traditional mistakes.
