Abstract
The article analyses the method of providing and financing above-standard (optional) health care in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, taking into account the situation in the Czech Republic. Approaches in individual countries are compared with the emphasis on the identification of problematic and, conversely, desirable aspects of this type of health care.
