Abstrakt
The study traces the developments in the publishing industry in the Czech Republic in the period 2010-2020 focusing on the translational activity from Arabic into Czech. It provides a detailed bibliography of the roughly forty translated books from Arabic in the past ten years and characterizes the major trends in the translation movement.
Based on interviews with translators, academics and a publisher, it identifies several reasons for the lack of books translated from Arabic into Czech and offers some preliminary recommendations for the improvement of the current situation.
