Havel argued against Kundera's understanding the Prague Spring and called for the return to normality. The article shows that Havel's political utopia is not such a return to normality.
In the period of the Velvet Revolution Havel did not copy the model of Western civilization and developed a form of non-party politics beyond capitalism. Havel, thereby, followed up to Patočka's critics of Western civilization as being a part of "super-civilization" that is found in a deep crisis.
