Information operations as part of hybrid warfare

Abstract

The chapter describes a specific form of military activity - information operations as a part of the current so-called hybrid warfare. The centre of gravity of the chapter is an explanation of the increasing role of information influence carefully synchronized with other forms of power competition on the border between a peaceful competition and an armed conflict.

To explain the context, it is set in the historical framework of international relations. A model study of the Russian approach demonstrates the functionality of the concept and practical use.

In conclusion, the basic tools used and concepts of information influence are explained, including an exemplary introduction of defence against it.
