Differentiation as a Principle of Consciousness and its Overcoming : Investigations and Interpretations of Consciousness and Self-Consciousness in German Philosophy from Wolff to Hegel

Publication at Faculty of Arts |

Abstract

The book provides an analysis of the ways in which the basic structure of consciousness as a relationship of the subject to the object via representation was developed in the German philosophy from Wolff to Hegel. In connection with this an investigation is made of how this differentiation had to be overcome through the concept of self-consciousness as an original identity.
