Abstract
The second chapter of publication "Current Issues in Copyright Law and Industrial Law - 2021" is aimed at the new legislative proposal of changes to the Czech Copyright Act implementing brand new proprietary right to use content of a database whilst erasing the sui generis right to database. The chapter introduces the legislative procedure surrounding these changes, summarizes the changes and analyses their impact on already existing proprietary rights to copyrighted works.
Finally, the chapter provides analysis of the impacts and foreshadows the legal repercussions of such new introduced proprietary right and summarize what those impacts may mean for authors and makers of the databases, both from conceptual and practical point of view.
