Abstract
The article was created on the basis of historiographic research of archival materials with the aim of supplementing the history of the field of social work with an insight into the form of changes in criminal justice over young people at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The conducted Historical probe provides an insight into the period of transition from punishment to education with a focus on young people with disabilities, as was discussed for the public on the pages of specialized periodicals and dailies.
