Abstrakt
In this article, we are describing the developing phenomenon of so-called stablecoins - digital assets that purport to keep a stable desired value. We provide a short historical introduction, followed by the general characteristic and technical typology of stablecoins.
In the second part of the article, we are evaluating the legal aspects of stablecoins under the EMD2 directive and a new EU regulation proposal Markets in Crypto Assets.
