Abstract

During the Thirty Years' War, Catholic religious life developed more fully in Prague. It was gradually influenced by the in-coming Baroque culture.

The traces of Baroque devotion can be found, for ex-ample, in the information about the religious decoration of households, in town libraries, and in testaments of burghers. Religious fraternities had a great significance for the spiritual life of inhabitants; they organised the individual devotion of their members as well as collective services.

During the 1620s-1640s, there were several large religious feasts in Prague.
