Education for carers of older vulnerable people: Skills and competences as key factors in the provision of quality care

Abstract
The paper focuses on key educational activities that support the professional development, competences and skills of social care workers providing social care to vulnerable older people with dementia in their own environment. In providing quality care for this target group, it is essential that workers are equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills to be able to apply them effectively in practice.
Based on our findings, we identified 7 areas of training which we then implemented through appropriate courses.
