Abstract

This chapter is a case study written for the Handbook Part VI: Case studies and overview of learning outcomes. It includes two assignments for study of Media and Personality cult in authoritarian Turkmenistan.

The assignments deal with comparison of Turkmenistan with another model of personality cult in a different country and the use of state media propaganda under the regimes of President S. Niyazov and G.
