Abstrakt
Workshop was a part of International Autumn School for Finnish Studies Abroad held by the Institute of Fennistic Studies of University in Greifswald from 27th to 30th September 2021. The workshop concentrated on the translation of English children literature and some of the translation strategies, mainly on the translation of names in Finnish and Czech translations of Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter-series and Robenson Crusoe.
The characterization of the fictional characters is done not only by the names themselves but also by the verbs used to describe their way of speaking or moving.
