Abstract

The Slovene-Croat writer Zofka Kveder's (1878-1926) life was balanced between different cultures. She began to write in the context of the transformation of Central European culture and belonged to the generation of young Slovene cosmopolitan writers who broke through in the Fin-de-siècle period in Slovene society, at that time on the periphery of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, called the "moderna" circle.

Kveder was also part of the Slovene "moderna" circle and part of the "Habsburg myth" - half of her life she lived in Prague and the other half in Zagreb. The topics of my paper are Czech motives and the representation of Prague in her literary work
