Abstract

The review introduces two textbooks for teaching Czech to foreigners studying at Czech medical faculties: Talking Medicine - Czech for Medical Students (Iveta Čermáková, Karolinum 2018, 2020) and Talking Medicine 2. Case Reports in Czech (Iveta Čermáková and Tereza Bakusová, Karolinum 2021).

The textbooks reflect the specific conditions of study and the needs of knowledge of the Czech language of foreign medical students. They focus on vocabulary, while grammar (word forms and constructions) is presented in context and without interpretation.

The use of original authentic case reports corresponds to the principles of modern communication methods, currently commonly used in the teaching of foreign languages.
