It hasn't been that long since we've all been farmers. After all, in 1900, around 90% of the European population lived in the countryside.
Maybe that's why we are affected by the stopping of fertile agricultural land and we are experiencing a painful feeling of drought in the fields and bark beetle calamity in the forest. It would seem that we can blame both of the weather, but the condition of the soils also plays a big role.
We are almost certain that the future landscape will require a return to old soil and forest management techniques, but at the same time we will not be able to do without the latest technologies and experiments with irrigation methods, new crops and forest trees. Thus, we begin to need healthy and natural-based nature not as a "protective luxury", but so that we can live in a dignified environment and have no shortage of water and food.
It is not just about food and wood, but also about the local climate, the quality of groundwater and the feeling of calm and sometimes the happiness or beauty that we experience in a harmonious landscape.
