Abstract
We inform about the Czech translation of Milan Kundera's novel Nevědění (Atlantis 2021, translated by Anna Kareninová). Alongside informing we also point out the problem of cultural transfer in teaching literature.
Some features of previous perception of the novel are also presented togehter with selected features of text analysis (way of narration, type of characters) and possibilities of interpretation of the novel (especially intertextuality, Jan Skácel). By the end the documentary Od Žertu k Bezvýznamnosti (2021) by Miloslav Šmídmajer is mentioned and the question of its adequacy for educational purposes is discussed.
