Abstract

Fatigue syndromes are increasingly becoming an interest in both the professionals and lay public. In connection with some clinical conditions of other fields / specialties (immunology, rheumatology, oncology, psychiatry, neurology) we can meet them in the field of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, although they are not recognized as separate diagnoses.

According to current opinions, long-term and persistent overloading of the body's immune and hormonal systems mainly contributes to the development of fatigue syndromes. They can present with a wide range of symptoms - inability to get up in the morning, unbearable migraines, joint pain, loss of appetite, palpitations and muscle cramps.

Their onset is similarly diverse - from gradual, which often escapes attention, to completely sudden changes in an individual's clinical condition.
