Abstract
A chapter that completes V. Čurda's monograph on a Czech Marxist literary scholar and a leading communist ideologue. While the main text is a historical treatise on the political development of the personality, this chapter places it in a personal and family context.
This is not the author's recollections, but a combination of a personal text with material research, which provides a number of as yet unpublished data and substantiates its claims with a dense background of new archival materials. The purpose of this chapter is to add hitherto unknown connections based on new research and thus contribute to the relativization of one-stringedness and unambiguity in the perception of a controversial personality.
