Culture, affecting the cognitive process, has an impact on the formation of information. The aim of this text will be to show - on two selected examples - how a given thesis works in the field of media communication, namely the press.
The most important issue will be a culturally accepted style of cognition, i.e. a specific pattern of thinking and reacting to new facts, which makes a given event obtain a completely different picture. This dependence will be examined in relation to two close, but at the same time different cultural circles - Polish and Czech.
