Contrastive possibilities in the construction grammar framework : Comparing -te kuru and come V-ing/come to infinitive constructions

Abstract

This paper explores possibilities of a contrastive approach within the framework of the construction grammar. It demonstrates the differences in the comparison of lexical items and constructions by comparing the lexical verbs kuru and come and constructions "te kuru" and "come+V-ing", "come+toV" and examines the linguistic features of the two languages related to the use of the constructions discussed.
