Abstract
The paper defines the position of so-called listed words in Czech orthography and describes the historical process of the emergence of lists of these words in 19th century Czech grammars and writing guides. The topic is presented in a broader context of Czech orthographical theory, including distinguishing between the rules concerning domestic words/morphemes vs. loanwords.
