Abstract

Elections in democratic countries should be an expression of free competition between political parties. In practice, however, it is often disrupted by various forms of electoral manipulations.

In Czechia, for example, we have witnessed direct buying of votes and mass bringing of people into polling stations, purposeful changes of address before municipal elections, but also an arguable delimitation of constituencies. This article describes some of the noted cases of such manipulations.
